Fandoms everywhere have fan content circulating in their community. Fan content is what makes fandoms alive, aside from content artists provide. ARMYs are no exception. There are loads of fan content one can see in various social media accounts such as Twitter and Instagram.
Several ARMYs have created amazing fanarts, which we are going to feature for this week’s #FanContentFriday. Let us introduce you to Tess, also known as @miss_weirdout on Instagram. She creates vibrant art of each of the seven members of BTS. Over 700 people follow her art on Instagram, and she has 200 fanarts posted on the mobile app. Truly, this shows how dedicated she is with her art and BTS!
Tess granted us an opportunity to interview her about her fanarts, the process behind it, and her goals.
How did you get into creating fanarts and specifically BTS fanart?
I got into creating fanart simply by the fact I love drawing the characters from my favorite anime, videogames this goes the same for BTS Fanarts the boys inspire me artistically with their MV’s and fashion.
When did you start creating fanarts?
I started creating fanarts 3 years ago and I’ve been drawing BTS fanart for a year now.
Tell us more about the drawing process.
It depends on the piece the more cartoony ones takes me about an hour and for the realistic and semi-realistic it takes around 3 to 5 hours
When did you become an ARMY?
I’m a fairly new ARMY since I discovered BTS last year in July if I remember correctly.
Who is the member that you love drawing?
I love drawing all of them but I do have a small preference for Yoongi. His features are really soft and I really enjoy drawing him.
Who is the member you find most difficult to draw?
The most difficult to draw would be Jin I always have a hard time getting his features right but I still love drawing him nonetheless.
What inspires you to create these fanarts?
What inspires me the most about creating those fanarts is the fact that BTS gave me so much they really changed my life and I want to repay them I guess by creating those fanarts to simply thanked them for making my life happier. All their MV’s are also so beautiful that I just have to draw them.
Do you have an artist that you look up to?
What is your preferred style of creating fanarts?
I don’t really have a preferred style I like trying out everything and I’m still trying to find my art style.
What’s next on your list? Like what next fanart of yours should we look out for?
I have a few projects coming soon such as Inktober, a future 1920’s Mafia BTS AU and a SeeSaw inspired animation.
What are the usual feedback you receive?
My feedbacks are really positive some of my followers really support me and my art!
What are your goals, be it in creating fanarts or your personal ones?
My goals are simply drawing what I love being able to draw BTS and creating personal art makes me really happy.
What do you want to tell ARMYs?
ARMYs do what you love create something that makes you happy whether its BTS or other things. Don’t let others stop or feel guilty about liking something that makes you happy.
